Sunningdale School is a family run boys' preparatory school of 100 pupils. Founded in 1874 it stands in 25 acres of mature gardens and grounds. The school is excellently situated just 45 minutes from London, 20 minutes from Heathrow and 15 minutes from the M3, M4 and M25 Motorways.
Sunningdale's aim is to provide a happy and supportive environment in which boys can prosper both as individuals and as members of the school community. We also aim to prepare boys both academically and socially for life at public school. Our record at Common Entrance is outstanding and boys from Sunningdale have gained 10 scholarships to public schools in the last three years.
The school has its own chapel. It also has a house in Normandy to which each boy goes for a week three times during his time at Sunningdale.
AIMS OF THE SCHOOL
In this school we hope that understanding, sympathy and enjoyment will be evident to all who come within its walls. We hope that these attributes will become a firm foundation for the whole life of the school. We hope that the children of this school, as they grow physically and mentally, will also grow socially and spiritually, so gaining a real respect for themselves, for each other and indeed for the whole of the school community.
Our main aim is to provide quality experiences in all aspects of school life so enabling the children to be happy, successful and keen to learn, thus helping them to grow into young people who are fulfilled and able to make a positive contribution to society.

We believe that children should develop a happy way of being together, that their self-respect leads to a respect for the rights and needs of other children and adults from their own culture and other cultures.
We are aiming to educate the whole child by presenting a total experience which is right and relevant to his individuality, thus fostering the child’s intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual development.
We aim to teach a broad and balanced curriculum by careful planning followed by an assessment of the children’s progress. We also provide time for evaluation by the teaching staff.
We recognise that change and progress are an important part of everyday life and, therefore, aim to equip children to cope and flourish in dealing with the challenges faced by such changes.
