Welcome to Sunningdale. We are the country’s leading family-run, boys’ boarding prep school and extremely proud of it! The school has been in the hands of the Dawson family since 1967 and we celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2024.

Most boys start at Sunningdale in Year 4, when they are 8 years old. We do have some who start the year before, in Year 3 and, providing there is space, we accept boys into older years as well. At the end of Year 8, when they turn 13, boys move on to some of the best senior independent schools in the country.

Although most of the boys board, we do have a number of day places available each year. Please get in touch for further details.

I hope this website gives you an insight into what life at Sunningdale is like but please come and see for yourself. We offer individual visits on Thursday and Saturday mornings in term time. Please email on admissions@sunningdaleschool.co.uk. In addition, we hold Small Group Open Mornings (up to six families) each term on a Saturday. Please book here to avoid disappointment.
